Dave’s Market Minute
Hello everyone, this is Dave Tomkow with your November 4th market report from Cattlemen’s Livestock Market here in Lakeland, Florida.
This week we ended up with 471 head of cattle. The market showed a strong recovery, jumping $10 to $20 higher in spots compared to last week. Everything we lost previously came right back, especially on the calves.
Cows held mostly steady, with some classes $2–3 cheaper, but still solid overall. Quality was good across the board with a strong offering of well-conditioned cattle.
Dave noted that the board dipped again yesterday but bounced back today — and it’s likely to keep doing that through the end of the year. “It’s just going to be up and down week to week,” he said. “But prices should hold pretty good through the holidays.”
