We had a shorter run this week with 300 head of cattle. The calf market softened some, coming in about 10 to 20 cents lower. The cow and bull market was mostly steady, with certain classes about 4 dollars lower.

Overall, cows were steady to cheaper, with lighter cows seeing the biggest impact at 10 to 20 cents off. Expect some ups and downs over the next month. We are moving through that transition period, and by March, we should get a clearer picture of where the highs are going to settle. That said, all indications still point to a strong, steady market in 2026, with the usual seasonal swings.

We had another frost move through Tuesday and Wednesday. Make sure you are keeping protein in front of your cattle. If you can find hay, get it. It is tight right now, and many producers are still hunting for it. With this dry weather, we could be feeding hay into April or even May unless we catch some rain.

As always, we appreciate every consignor, every buyer, and every customer who walks through our gates. Thank you for trusting Cattlemen's. We will see you next week.

As always, we thank our buyers and sellers for trusting us with your cattle. If you ever see anything we can improve, let us know. We can’t fix it if we don’t know it’s broken

Vac Program Sales will be on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. March 18th: If you plan to sell, please inform Hailey in the office so we can inform the buyers what we have coming!
